Hello,

I need to start some research, but i am totally lost when it comes to pick a topic that is good and feasible. The research can be about anything, but i am limited in my budget. So I am asking you if anyone of you have any ideas for different research topics? I would really appreciate your help!

TIA

The best place to start is to think about topics that are interesting to you, or questions that you think are unanswered. Talk with everyone that you can and get input and advice. Find researchers who are asking relevant interesting questions and have a track record of success. You could also browse the pubmed database for recently published articles to help narrow your choices.

I am currently involved in a yet-to-be completed study involving the preventive properties of vitamin D. There has been a myriad of studies released over the past three or four years linking vitamin D deficiency to an increased likelihood of developing three dozen-plus illnesses, diseases and so forth.

Personally, I am extremely interested in this particular topic, and can think of a dozen different angles from which to conduct the research that have yet to be studied (or at least if they have, those studies have not yet been published).

It's a subject about which we are currently experiencing a medical/scientific Renaissance of sorts, and as stated, I think there's still plenty of room for new research.

For example, alopecia (hair loss) has recently been linked to defective vitamin D receptors in the skin, however there is still no data available regarding whether or not this condition can be reversed with supplementation. That's just one of countless examples of studies that will eventually be performed, but have not as of yet to the best of my knowledge.
