hey guys,
i just finished my first year and im doing research for the summer in an head and neck lab. im doing various data analysis and helping out with some experiments but it doesn't look like there will be a publication in my future here. is this still going to look significant in my residency application? i am very interested in this research but the PI pretty much told me i probably wont get anything on paper for this. thanks
 
see The Throat's numerous other posts on this. He got great feedback during interviews talking about his research that didn't produce a paper. I didn't have a published paper either and had lots of interest in my project which I thought of, designed, and worked through myself. I think because I did everything on it myself, people didn't care that it hadn't yet been published.
