How many hours is low/normal/high for this? Also, does research conducted at work count in the eyes of adcoms (to the best of your knowledge)?

I personally wrote down about 1100 hours but I am sure there are applicants out there who would consider it mediocre.🙄 But in the end, its your ability to demonstrate the quality of the research you did over quantity of hours and I think it would be the best to demonstrate it during an interview. However, you might not even get a chance to really discuss in depth about your research if the school isn't really interested about it.
