  1. Pre-Dental
This is my last semester of undergraduate and I have the opportunity to do dry lab research for all kind of cancers in the society. Does someone recommend me if that would be a great idea to do? I am applying to dental schools this coming summer.

Research is always a plus.. but don't let it interfere with your DAT preparation!! Research means nothing if you don't have a good DAT score.

That being said, I did quite a bit of research, and feel it really boosted my application. But I didn't do any research the 3 months before the DAT. If you can manage to do both, it's a huge plus. I got into two schools, and one of the schools I am certain was because I had a strong research background and it was a heavy research school. Also, it really doesn't matter what research you do. I mean, I did a Micro/Organic project where we used essential oils from plants to kill mosquitos and then bacteria.... lol, totally irrelevant to dental school but I worked hard on it and they liked it. So I would recommend you go for it!

Oh ok cool, and im done with DAT too I got 19 science and 18 AA, 19 Bio, 22 org, 18 gen Chem, 19 PAT, 15 reading, 17 math... I am just going with it and my gpa now is 3.7... I hope that doing research would help me to get strong in my application too, plus I have some volunteers as well.

I would highly recommend getting involved in research. I talked about it in every interview I attended and scored a letter of recommendation from the professor I performed research for. There is an entire section in the application to list research experience; having any experience would be a highlight to your application. Best of luck!
