Hi Everyone! I just wanted opinions on how much doing research (Not as an IRTA but remote volunteer) at the NIH has an effect on med school applications. Would this be considered an "x factor" if I got a pub out of this?

No. It would be considered research.

Almost nobody has an X factor, don't fixate on creating one.
