I'm an M1 interested in anesthesiology, and would like to do research this coming summer. I was wondering what types of research have current applicants into anesthesiology done. Are anesthesiologists involved in clinical research also? Any insight would be helpful!

I too, am an MS1. What are other's opinions on doing research for the summer for anesthesia? And I know many will say do what you want to do this summer, but honestly, I just want to do what helps me get into a residency. In fact, if you wouldn't mind, comment on the following:

1-Gas (need research?)
2-ER (need research?)

thanks in advance...

There's lots of clinical research going on in the ER. They were always trying to recruit people when I was in med school. Sounded like fun.... but I was usually too busy with something else.

Did you do any research?
