How important is research in acceptance to Dental School?

Is there anyone out there with mediocre stats that was accepted to a school with no research experience?

For most schools, research is not really required. It looks good on paper but it's not necessary to get in. Someone who has mediocre stats will have a hard time getting in regardless of whether or not they do research.

I agree. It might give you an advantage at a research oriented school assuming your stats are already great. But at the average school I would suspect spending more time on your grades would be the better option.
