I'm currently majoring in English while trying to get some of my prereqs out of the way and doing extracurricular activities. Unlike so many people I know, I haven't been a premed student my whole time in college. I took a few different classes to see what I liked and seriously started thinking about it toward the end of my second semester of my first year of college so I haven't been able to do all the volunteering and research opportunities as of yet, but I'm starting to look around, and I'm really interested in doing some type of research. I was wondering how much luck all of you who are nonscience majors had in finding research opportunities. Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Are you just wanting lab experience, or actually considering self-directed research?
The former should be easy to find, especially if you are willing to volunteer or qualify for work-study. Labs always need more thumbs for pipetting. The latter may be more difficult to find until you get more pre-reqs under your belt.
Ask your pre-med advisor. I am sure they could point you in the right direction better than I could, and I am almost perfect.😛
