I got this email recently from ResearchGate:

New publisher full-text added to your publication.
ResearchGate and American Psychological Association have partnered in a program to give researchers new ways of accessing research content.
As part of this program, American Psychological Association has provided a publisher version of one of your articles, which we've added to your publication's page.

Interesting, wonder if there was a financial deal of some sort made.

Oh no, ResearchGate is always thinking I've written articles that I haven't (my name is very common)

Ugh. I actually shut down my ResearchGate account because it drove me nuts. Constant spam from the site itself and from people asking me to send them articles like I'm their damn personal secretary. (1) Use your damn university library like everyone else does; (2) It is usually free through PubMed anyways.

It just felt like one of the billion things academics are expected to waste their time on these days that takes away from the actual work.
