I’m scheduled to take the DAT in mid-September. My studying is going well but I still have reservations about being ready. I just feel like anything is game. When all of you took your DAT, did you feel 100% ready or did you also have reservations? Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to take the DAT until I have put in the work. I do not want to take this test more than once. I will postpone it until next cycle if I have to. Thanks for the advice. DB

mine's on Aug 30 next thursday and i am freaking out everyday and night. I am now applying a slighty modified version of amsies study methods for the remaining week, today i am going over all of destroyer i am already done with orgo and chem sections. Tomm will be notecards and notes. The day after will be all of topscore, then day after that all of achiever, then destroyer again. And no i dont feel prepared even though i have been goin over destroyer, top score, achiever, kaplan and some shaums over the past 2 months. I still feel i am making silly mistakes when i actually know what the question is asking. Practice practice practice to avoid this.

I had mine scheduled for the 28th and now moved mine to late in sept-- I was too stressed, do not feel ready at all!

I didn't take the DAT until I was sick of studying. After taking it, my head hurt and I slept all day. So, work hard until your exam. And you can relax afterwards. That's what I did.

Also, try not to let your nerves get in the way. Remain focused in your studies. Work hard. And leave the rest to God.

I have mine scheduled this 29th, but since I havent touch the RC and the PAT, I might have to postpone it. Even if I studied all day and night, I still feel like i'm not prepared enough for some reason. It's like you never get enough of study for this test. I feel scare and nervous everyday, thinking that I might do horrible or something. You know, the pratice exam was okay, I did fine, but the real test is what matters and you never predict what's going to happen on that day. I'm nervous, but I guess all of us do. So good luck guys, and to whoever took the test, please write your review in here so that it can help us prepare. Thanks alot guys. Good luck.

For PAT:

Use Kaplan Blue Book to start w/.
Then Cliff & Barron. (Don't buy....go to B&N and read and study.)
They are a really good representation of the test. That's what I think. Most people however don't agree. They think it's much harder. Learn strategies & apply each time to get to the answer. (For example, when you're give a Top & Front view for the TFE section, were are you going to look first to eliminate answers? After that, what will you do? Have a plan. Practice the plan and use it on test day! (Don't change your method on test day. That's not the point of doing all this.)

For the Science sections:

Used AP & SAT subject review books. Again, don't buy...go to the libarary, check them out, use them. Do the practice problems, read the concepts.

If you're a freshman or have time to take biology classes. Take as many as you can fit in your schedule & do well in. They will only help you on the biology section.

For Math:

I got a 17 so....I don't feel qualified to give advice on this one. I didn't study as much. I over studied word problems, understudied other stuff. So all I can say is spread your attention! There's more to the math section than word problems. Again, go to the library and check out books on this. Don't waste time doing problems on stuff you already know! When you are taking the test, don't try to figure out stuff you have no clue on! Mark it. Move on. Do the ones you know first.

For Reading:

Practice this weekly! Don't wait till 2 weeks before the exam because you'll have other stuff to review than.

Hope that helps. Good Luck.
