I will be applying for residency and wanted to know the exact question that they ask about criminal background checks, misdeamor, and felony questions. I tried to find the application online, but couldnt. I am meeting with my lawyer this week, but she wanted to know the exact question they ask on the application.

Thanks in advance!

Best thing to do would be to ask your program directly.

Well I just took my step 1, so i won't be applying for 2 years. Is their not a common application for residencies? So each residency has a different application?

If you just took your Step 1, won't you be applying in just over a year?

I'm an IMG and not yet at the point of applying for residencies, hence I'm not sure of exact ins and outs of application process. In your situation I would give the administrative office a call and if it's a wrong place they will direct you to the correct person.

Here on the forum you can hear answers but at the end of the day you will be dealing with residency admin staff, and it's best to liase with them directly.

Pretty much all residencies hire a company to run a background check on you. So, whatever transgressions you have, best be up front about whatever you have done when prompted on your application. I'm fairly certain they are including all felonies, and this year also misdemeanors on ERAS.
