Hey guys-

So I haven't yet submitted my primary to AMCAS, but it's ALL DONE. I'm waiting for the admissions rep at USD to call me back and let me know what the residency requirements are (I lived in SD my whole life, but moved to MN for school). I guess my question to you guys is:

If I submit my AMCAS app saying that I'm a MN resident (though I still don't have a MN driver's license (I'll get that as soon as I know what USD's policies are)), and it turns out that it would be more beneficial for me to say that I'm an SD resident, can I cancel the initial submitted application, change my residency to SD, and restart my AMCAS verification? Or should I just wait for the lady to call me back? She's not coming in till tomorrow, and I want to get my application in line. It's ALREADY too late. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dave

School usually doesn't change your residency, so you're probably safe saying California, unless there's something crazy going on like you pay residency tuition in Minnesota. But one day isn't going to change things much. At this point, I'd probably just wait for the thumbs up tomorrow - no sense in panicking.

Thanks, Mattabet. I just needed to hear that from someone. And FYI...USD is South Dakota, not San Diego. Honest mistake though...who the hell applies to South Dakota? HA.

Right. That does make more sense. I suppose a resident of San Diego would just pay in-city tuition...🙂
