I'm almost halfway through with residency and lately just have the blues. I'm not depressed, but I just can't quite see the hours and fatigue lifting. Anyone been there? What do you do? I felt this way at the end of intern year but then the promise of second year, with less off service rotations and presumably sicker patients kept me going. Now that I'm halfway there though, I can't shake the sense that this process never ends. Any tips would be great appreciated!

Been there. Cured it by moonlighting and quadrupling my resident's salary. Problem solved!

Hang in there, it definitely gets better soon!

I feel like this too at times and our second year has more off service rotations. Can't wait to be done.

This too shall pass.
Sucks though.
Do what you need to do to take care of yourself. Work out. Eat well (not necessarily healthily!). Mini-vacation... even if it is cheap and only for 2.5 days.
