can someone give me some insight as to what types and quantities of rotations during a 3 year EM residency make for the best exposure.
over the 3 years....
what should be the minimum ER rotations?
how many trauma specific rotations should there be?
what are some good choices for electives?
how many critical care type rotations should there be?
thanks for your time.

Most of that is pretty strictly dictated by the residency review committee. Most programs will have very similar rotation schedules with small variations. 4 year programs have more leeway in structuring their schedule since they have more time to spend on it.

When looking at programs, the thing I looked for most was minimizing months on medicine floors. I hate those rotations. Hated them in medical school, hated them in residency, glad that I don't have to do them in private practice.
