Hi everyone, residency explorer lists "step 1 required for interview consideration" and "passing step 1 required for interview consideration". What's the difference between these two and what does it mean? Thank you in advance

The options are more accurately transcribed as:

USMLE: Step 1 Completion required for Interview Consideration
USMLE: Step 1 Passing required for Interview Consideration

The first requires that you’ve taken the test, even if your result is not back yet. The 2nd requires a passing score, not just having taken the exam.

Thank you, this is so helpful! would the 'passing' count as needing a pass on first attempt or just a pass even in subsequent attempts?
