Hey all.

I'm starting med school this year in the 1st medical faculty of Charles Uni in prague and was just wondering what the requirements are, other than usmle for one to get a residency in canada.

Thx 🙂

First, the USMLE is NOT a requirement for residency in Canada,

Since you're an IMG (international medical graduate), I suggest visiting www.carms.ca to get more info on what is required to be eligible in the match. It is also much harder for IMG to get residency spots in Canada then for canadian grads.

Oh i see. Actually my first goal is getting a residency in the US, but I wont lose anything by trying getting one canada.

Thanks

Is residency in Canada recognized in the US?

Most canadian residencies are accepted in the US. To be honest, Canada is extremely competative, especially for an IMG, and you'll probably have more luck in the USA.

...but when you are down your residency in the States, please come back to Canada.🙂

We need you.

I think neurosurgery is the only one that is not acceptable in the US.
