Residency in the UK

I would like to know how is possible to get residency in UK? Would like to know how to long it takes, difficulty and duration to take neuroradiology?
Would also like to know the earning in UK and if anyone has the experience of residency there?
Any Portuguese doctor or do you know any in the UK?

You know the job situation in the UK is pretty dismal at the moment? Particularly at ST level (I suppose residency equivalent?). And it's been predicted that that's going to go right down to F1 level (intern equivalent) within the next few years. Despite EWTD being enforced.

Ireland. Better ask leorl or someone else about that though cos at this rate I know more about the UK medical training system than about the Irish one.

I know at the moment anyway that interns work mad hours (one told me at nine on a Friday evening once that he had worked 97 hours that week so far and I saw him still there at six the next morning). With all the overtime apparently they earn around €75000 for the year.

They're supposed to be bringing in EWTD here but dunno when that's happening. In about six years there will be double the number of medical graduates than there are now so perhaps then.

I'm afraid I really can't tell you much.
