I was wondering what the "lifestyle" is like for Derm PGY2-4?
I've heard various extremes, so I would appreciate any feedback.
I was also wondering if Derm residency works well with having a family.
Thanks.

"chef" - could you elaborate on this? Are you currently a derm resident?
thanks

The lifestyle of residency and practice is generally among the best of any specialty. Most Derm patients are outpatients and only some with erythroderma, pemphigus and similar problems are hospitalized,so few derm programs have a large inpatient services if they have them at all.Clinics/consults are daytime activities.ER and ICU consults do take place at night and weekends.Of course it depends on the specific program and some can be intense with much longer time demands but in general its a great lifestyle, which is a major reason it's in such high demand and super competitive.
