I was wondering if loans were available for residents that did not have to be repaid till after residency. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Is this to be differentiated from standard private loans, like T.H.E.'s loan, which has a 42-month grace period after graduation...? As in, your residency is > 42-months?

Yeah it's different.

I am asking about loans for residents, not medical students. Some offer interest only payments until 1-2 years out of residency.

The two I know of are Suntrust and National Association of Residents and Interns (which I think is just MBNA, but that's not certain).

Thanks,

SF

After much googling, I found gradloans.com. They offer a deferred interest and deferred principle repayment option on residency loans. These are loans specifically for residents, not med students entering residency. Any other similar lenders links would be appreciated.
