I think this site is being used by ENT this year to dispense up to 5 tokens per applicant. Maybe other specialties will see that and follow suit. Right now haven't heard about any others planning to do this (besides Ophtho reportedly also capping people's total interviews attended in SF Match this year)

Edit: My mistake. ENT (and Urology) have explicitly banned this website. It's a private company trying to offer this kind of token system as a service. Seems like any specialties opting to do this will be doing it via alternative methods than this company tho

Hey everyone, just wanted to know your thoughts and impressions about this particular site: Signal – The Residency Application Preference Signaling Platform

Their platform allows applicants to submit "signals" to 12 programs they're interested in the most. It looks interesting, but they would probably need your AAMC ID, so wouldn't this be an NRMP violation?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!
I think ERAS should do this but have it built into their platform and maybe only allow a top three. For some people, 12 is their entire rank list and at that point, signaling would be just as questionable in value to programs as writing letters of intent.

Agreed! Or it could be a specialty-dependent number of tokens too.

Yeah, hopefully PDs are aware of such systems and don't select applicants who've sent a signal through such a platform, since many students may not even know about this!
