Hi guys,

I'm about to become an intern this july and was hoping to apply for a gas residency this year. My question is: are there spots available in gas residencies for people entering directly into the CA-1 year? Also, is it more difficult to get these positions?

Many programs will have a spot or two they keep open to take people who want to come in. The most straightforward way to get one is to send a CV and a cover letter to every anesthesiology program you could possibly be interested in. You can discover some of these if you apply through the match--they program may ask if you would be interested in coming a year sooner.
