currently i am a California resident and going to ucla, but my dad had just moved to Texas(his work moved there). By the time i apply, he would be a resident in texas and claim me as a dependent. Would i be considered a instate or oos when applying to texas school?
According to " Q. My parents are claiming me as a dependent for tax purposes. How do I establish residency or how do they establish residency?
A. If your parents are Texas residents and reside in the state of Texas and are claiming you as a dependent on their income tax return or are eligible to claim you as a dependent, then your residency will be Texas once your parents have met the residency requirements" http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/residency/resfaq.html
i should be able to apply as a instate, but i dont know if that is only for 18& under or everyone.
