So I have lived in Ohio all my life but my dad now works full time/lives in South Carolina (and will for the next 2 years, bad job market in Ohio). He is the only income earner in my household but my mom lives in Ohio (where I go to school). Since I am a dependent of him does that mean that I am a Ohio resident becoming a South Carolina one?
I ask because the 2 south Carolina schools seem to be selective to instate residents and I don't want to throw my money away. I have looked at the south Carolina residency info and it says
B. Independent persons who reside in and have been domiciled in South Carolina for fewer than twelve months but who have full-time employment in the State, and their dependents, may be considered eligible for in-state rates for as long as such independent person is employed on a full-time basis in the State.
What do you guys think? Can I technically be a resident of either state (depending on if my dad files me as a dependent of his or not)
