residency start date

any idea when residency will start this year? orientation etc...? i know it varies from program to program, but could any of the current residents comment on when they started last year and if they had orientation? thanks.......

in philadelphia, the majority of programs start a week before july 1. and then there are up to 3-8 days prior to that for orientation, acls, atls (if needed), etc....

you then get a week off at the end of intern year (when the new interns start a week early)

We had our NALS and PALS the very end of June, like the 28th or something. We "officially" started the Monday that was around July 1st.

Of course, if you were NALS certified you didn't have to go, but who the heck is NALS certified? I also was ACLS certified so I didnt' need to take that. I think almost all our programs at our program (USF) started around that same time.

My program started the first of July. We have a month long orientation. Got all our badges, had great lectures, oh, and erm, socialized alot. 🙂
