For the class of 2006 I heard that a new policy was to be implemented which would require every graduate to have at least a 2 year residency thus allowing everyone at least a PSR12? Is this true?

We just had a residency director give a seminar about Peripheral Vascular Disease to our Physiology class. At the end, he gave a brief review of Residency reform in progress. What they (CPME 320 and JRRC with the APMA) are trying to create a uniform residency for all Pods.

There will be comprehensive Podiatric Medicine and Surgery - 24
(PM&S-24) as well as PM&S-36 depending on where you go. This will be passed as early as Jan 2004 or as late as July 2004 and will most likely affect the class of 2006.

I don't want to appear overly negative, but they've been talking about this since the crusty-toe-acious period.

They also had several model they were considering last year. This current proposal seems to be a bit better, and may be acceptable to all of the parties that are arguing about it.

Some progress may be in the works.
