I want to hear from people at smaller programs to see how everyone is covering call.
Let's talk CA2 and CA3 call schedules. I'm a CA3 and I've got 7 calls next month. Our call is 3p-7a weekdays so some weeks I'm only at the hospital during the day for my rotation one or two days. This blows but we're a smaller program with 4 residents in the ca2 class and 5 in the ca3 class. We have to cover call everyday and some residents are out of the call pool due to out rotations.
How are people at smaller programs covering daily call? How much does it take you away from the rotation you're on? How many CA2-3 residents are available for the OR everyday?
