An email went out to all resident members of the AAPM&R to encourage participation in the Resident Physician Council (RPC) through elected and appointed positions. The deadline for elected positions is 8/25 and for appointed positions is 10/6.

Aug 25th is the deadline for nomination for the elected positions - the VP, secretary, treasurer.

All other positions are filled via appointment and that deadline is in October.

And yes, you can apply for both.

I don't think we have much $$ in the budget to embezzle -

The interim meeting date is not known.

Oh - and another point - you do NOT have to be at the Annual Assembly to run/apply for a position. And yes, there are still unfilled spots.

Is there a postition on the RPC that can help with reviewing the questions on the board exam and converting them away from eponyms? This was mentioned on the board exam discussion thread. At least we can ask them to clarify in parenthesis or something like that. This would be easy to do and the argument is pretty strong.

Yeah, me and my fiance have been engaged for a while, and we met in med school. It's funny, but I went to high school with CMS' husband Small world, no?

Is there anyone on the resident committee of AAPMR that deals with standards for residency programs concerning elective time or board review and things like that? I heard a lot of variation among different programs about topics like this.

Although we may have some influence on those things through the RPC/AAPM&R as the AAPM&R sends representatives to the RRC, I think the more direct way to deal with these issues is to contact the RRC (Residency Review Committees).

Applications for positions on the Resident Physician Council are currently being accepted. Please send a letter of interest as well as your CV. A one year commitment is required. Specific responsibilities will be outlined depending on the position assigned to the applicant. General categories are listed below. If you wish to be considered for a particular category or categories, please indicate your preferences in your letter of interest.
