From how I understand if your interacting with patients then id consider it as clinical

Clinical for me.

I came up with the "close enough to smell patients" definition of clinical years ago, not because the patient must smell (many do not) but that one would be in close proximity without the requirement that you be touching them. There are loads of clinical volunteer positions that do not involve touching patients and some actually prohibit touching but let you ask questions, provide materials, play games, provide companionship, etc.

What you are doing is clinical in my opinion.
