hey guys i know there are a ton of posts regarding the resources for usmle over here but i was overwhelmed by the number of resources that are available so ive settled to a bunch finally
currently iam an MS2
here is what i finally settled to
pathology--pathoma
micro & immuno--warren levinson review
pharm--kaplan
physiology--brs
anat & biochem--kaplan
behavioural--kaplan+hy(anything else like brs ,conrad fishers
biostats & epidemology--any separate books/sites(other than sdn)
what about other topics nutrition, molecular & cell biology-do u use any resource
i'll b using micro, pharm & path review along my cw

what did u guys use for micro, pharm as a textbook & reference during cw?
should i start FA along with cw?
did u guys review your MS1 subjects during MS2 /during dedicated?
any advice would be appreciated🙂

did u guys use any flash cards for pharm/micro during cw
how many hours do u dedicate for step prep during your MS2

I have personally never heard of neither. This made me go check both of them out. I can say that I liked both. The USMLE Simple was a fairly simple version of a slideshow powerpoint presentation with a lecturer explaining (something we are all very familiar with in school) but the plus point about this is that it is that they also provide a powerpoint slide for each topic and the price is right. Like seriously $20 shouldn't hurt anyone, ever. As for Sketchy Micro I was impressed, it is visual memory which stimulates a whole new way of learning by drawing out everything in vivid sketches. The negative point I have to make about Sketchy is that they only offer 2 options which is the 6 month for $100 and the 12 month plan for $160. I feel like if they had a 2 or 3 month plan that would be better cause I don't think people will go over Micro for 6 months especially if the total hours of videos are 10 hrs only.

In the end it's down to personal preference I would say.

Well said about micro resources currently available. I also used both when I was preparing for my step 1. No strong preference.

You should message blueboy3056 or dukecool44 or sf2008 (all same user) for that usmle simple stuf...he/she is an expert on the product 😉 :nono:

Expert? I feel like he/she works for them, why the need for 3 accounts? Anyway I'm not here to judge.

CMMRS was good but too long for me (Good for Classroom settings but not for Step 1 prep). I didn't like picmonic because it was like remembering 100+ stories. The only flashcards I found useful were the Lange Pharmacology ones. I liked BRS Anatomy. I'm not going to go into the detail for USMLE simple because I already gave my review of those 2 new courses in a previous post. To me the Lange Micro & Immuno book had too much Immuno info, that confused things for me.

My advice is to start using the First Aid ASAP, incorporate it with all your class lectures and become familiar with it because it is highly Step 1 relevant. During MS2 I dedicated about 2hrs/weekday and 3-4hrs/weekend for the Step 1 no excuses/holidays/breaks.

Seems like a lot of resources OP--unless you have a lot of time for dedicated I would recommend not spreading yourself too thin... Stick to UW, FA, and pathoma... Add on to that if necessary.

Edit: And please do not buy USMLE simple...........
