Intersting, your dad is blind, and you want to become an optometrist? Why not a researcher? It's obvious you mentioned his condition because you want to validate your reason for becoming an optometrist, but people don't have to have an inherent calling to do something. We all choose dentistry for many reasons, namely: prestige, alternative to MD, money, hours, genuine intrest in teeth, etc. If I were to tell you that my father was born with no teeth, would that validate me?
 
Very strange. This post is the equivalent to someone walking down the street talking to their self and all of the other pedestrians are just looking at each other saying 'what the hell is that guy doing?'
 
I see people talking to themselves everyday and nobody says anything to them(cell phones). This post was actually intended as a response for the "why do pre-dents get so excited about teeth" thread.
