Looking for a little clarification here from a new q bank question. Person with pnuemoconiosis due to chronic asbestos exposure. What would PFT look like. They have that restrictive lung disease has inc FVC1, dec FVC, inc FVC1/FVC. However my other sources are saying normal FVC1 with dec FVC and inc FVC1/FVC. Just wondering which one is correct for the FVC1

My understanding is that it FEV1 can be normal or increased. FEV1/FVC can also be normal or increased. Always look at the TLC as well, it should be decreased in restrictive. Restrictive disease is reflected by static compliance, so the TLC is a better indicator.
