Resume Objective

I'm putting the final touches on my resume (the professor who I asked for a letter of rec asked for a copy). For those of you who submitted a resume when you went through the application process, did you have an objective? I obviously want to earn a spot in DPT program, but I can't think of a better, more creative way to say it.

I think a CV is meant to be "to the point" so-to-speak. I just put that my objective was "to become a physical therapist". Your autobiography or any other essay would allow you the opportunity to be more creative. The CV or resume is pretty standardized other than the different experiences or certifications you may have had or acquired.

I think objective statements are kind of out of vogue right now. If you are applying for a job with a resume a "summary of qualifications" at the top seems to be popular. If you are writing a CV, neither is really required. If you only have work experience to present, I'd probably go with a resume format. If you have any research experience or other more academic credentials I'd go with a CV.

It sounds like the professor wants a copy of your resume to get a better idea of who you are/what you have done. If your resume is current and you already articulated that you need the letter for PT school applications, I don't think you need to add an objective to it.
