Had a rough semester last year where I was taking way too many credits, and working 50+ hours a week. As a result, some of my grades didn't end up too hot. Got a C in Biochem I. I'm currently registering for Fall classes (taking much fewer credits and working less; I learned my lesson) and I'm trying to decide which would look better to an ADCOM: retake Biochem I and hopefully get a better grade, or move onto Biochem II (C is passing, so I technically have the prereq) and hopefully get a good grade in that. Any opinions? Thanks!

Probably ace biochem II and if you have time, repeat the 1st sem. In reality, one C's not going to kill you, although being as it's biochem it's kind of an important class. The retake, though, does essentially nothing for you for MD schools. For DO, they'll forgive the first time around if you retake.

That's pretty much what I was leaning towards too. Thanks for your input!

neither, unless you really like biochem and want/need to take the second semester for some reason, or need grade replacement for DO. if they ask you about it at an interview, at least you have a ready answer (i was working, got behind, learned my lesson blahblah)
