So I didn't want to post this because I have seen a million threads on this topic, but each one seems to have differing answers, so I wanted to get some opinions for my personal situation. Here goes:

I have a C+ in my second semester of General Bio, and a C in my second semester of Gen Chem. This is because I impulsively joined ROTC in a stupid change of career choice and didn't really pay attention to grades. I came to my senses at the end of the semester and left, but the damage was already done to my grades. I had a B and B+ for the first semester. I did well in most other classes and my current standing GPA is around 3.3-3.4. I got a B- and an A in the two semesters of Orgo, and a B+ and A in physics. I still have 2 years to take high level science courses which I KNOW I can do well in (at least B+). So assuming I can get good grades on higher level courses and have a GPA of at least 3.6-3.7 or higher for my remaining 4 semesters, should I retake those two intro level classes or should I just rock my upper level classes and move on?

I know ROTC isn't a good excuse, it's just a reason as to why it happened. I just want to know the best course of action to back up the fact that I'm smart enough - retake and do well in retakes, or just take high level classes and do well in those?

FYI, if it helps, my practice MCAT exams have put me at a 27, 28, and 30. I also have good ECs, being a volunteer EMT and working as a nurses aide and pharmacy tech, with a lot of shadowing and will have good LoRs, and looking for research right now for my junior year.

Thanks for any input! Any other suggestions are welcome. I'll be discussing this with my adviser at school soon, but I find that it's really helpful to get input from students who have already gone through this.
