I got a D in Orgo I and a B in Orgo II. On the DAT I got a 20 in Orgo. My gpa is 3.2

Should I retake Orgo I? If so, should I retake it this summer & apply late July or apply early June & retake it this fall?

Yeah, you've got to retake it since you got less than a C. It doesn't really matter when you take it, as long as it's before you plan to start school.

Are you sure colleges will wait until the fall grades come in? I don't want them to immediately reject my app without knowing I'm retaking the course.

As long as you've got it noted as "Planned" or "In Progress" you'll be fine. You don't have to take all of your pre-reqs before you apply, just before you start school, and in the Adcom's eyes, you haven't taken that pre-req yet. Don't stress, just do your best 🙂

And btw, I think the 20 really shows that you learned the stuff, despite the bad grade, and that'll be a redeeming factor for you there.

Many schools count D as passing now, this is how it was at my undergrad, and may be the case here.

Well, if you're using it as a pre-req, you'll need to get at least a C in it. Just to clear the point up, by "schools," I meant undergrads, not dental schools.
