i took an upper div microbio before I graduated and I got a C. I am enrolled in a JC for microbio right now, but I do not know if i should keep the course. The catch is.. i think the course is Lower div. I know I can get an A in it since I already have the background. should I retake it? is it worth keeping? If not, should i enroll in non science courses such as econ or finance?

when i was still an undergrad, I also requested to get a D+ rather than a C- in ochem so that i can retake the course. I wonder if that was a good idea. I did get an A in the retake during the summer. what do you guys think?

Since you are already enrolled, I think you should keep it. When it comes down to it, admissions committees won't make a big deal about an upper div class vs a lower div one.
Keep it and add a non science class.
I actually requested the same exact thing for my ochem 1 class years ago, but the instructor did not agree. I ended up getting a better grade in the second semester, and the schools definitely liked that (in every 2-semester course my grade increased during the second semester). I ended up getting interviews at Columbia, USC, UOP and many others. I am at UOP now.

Thank you for your reply. i really want to go to UoP. I visited the school and I just love the atmosphere, the student, and the staff. and just like you, very willing to give each other a hand. I hope to maybe some day get to meet you. Thanks again!
