Retake -- Drop in CARS

I got a 501 (126/126/125/124) 5/11 and just got my 8/23 retake score of 510 (129/124/126/131). I'm honestly really underwhelmed about my score because I'm really worried about my 2 pt drop in CARS.. am I just being a neurotic premed? My (retake) FL average was 512.7, but B/B was never lower than 127 and CARS ranged from 124-128. I'm not sure how to make sense of my retake. I am an MI resident and really really want to stay in-state, and my cGPA is 3.93 with 3.8~ sGPA (I think).

I think you'll be fine. FL average can be inflated when retaking. Your 124 won't hold you back. I have a 123 CARS and have 4 interviews, including Wayne State in MI! If the rest of your app is well rounded, I think you'll do well. Are you applying this cycle or next?

You increased your overall score by 9 points even if a particular section went down by a point or two which is pretty amazing. You will be totally fine if the rest of your application is strong/well-rounded and I wouldn't worry too much about your 124 CARS score.
