Retake help plzzz....

K guys I am in a dilemma and need some help. I retook the DAT a couple of weeks ago and thinking of retaking, but I know its going to be too late because of the 3 month waiting period. What do you guys suggest should I retake or not??? btw I have 3.0 from UCSD in biochemistry and cell biology, have research experience, and also tons of dental experience. Would appreciate feedback thx.

statistically speaking an 18AA/17TS with a 3.0 is more on the lower end of people getting accepted. I am NOT suggesting you don't have a chance, I mean you did show some really nice improvements on the RC, QR, and PAT.

Seriously, If it hadn't been for those 2x 16's in GC and bio, you woulda had a pretty decent DAT score.

Maybe you can still apply early this June with your current DAT and let them know that you will be retaking the test sometime in August. You've shown some nice improvements from trial 1 to trial 2.... I think you'll show the same improvements on your 3rd trial

One thing to keep in mind, If you do retake it this year and you decide to spend 1-2 years doing post-bacc or masters, your DAT might expire 2-3 years from the day you take it... just keep this in mind

unless youre planning on post grad work i would retake dat asap. if you start studying now, youll be more than ready in july/august. get your apps in early june and youll be all set

I suggest getting help from other sources with your DAT. Say, Kaplan or Princeton courses. Apply early june. Take a break right now and start studying/courses and take it again in august.

I don't believe they do, just MCAT..however I do hear it's still applicable to studying for the DAT.

We could be of more help if you told us how you studied. It could be as easy as you're just not using the great resources available to you.

What books did you use to study and how long did you study for?

I think you need to start considering different method of studying, something different than what you have been doing for the last two tests...

The third test would be your last chance pretty much, you should really focus on doing well.

I believe you can do much better than your previous scores if you put in just a little more effort! Good luck.

Thanks guys for the advice, yes I am thinking of retaking. I had a kaplan course last year, KKB, DAT destroyer 09, math destroyer, cliff ap bio, top score.
