retake? HELP!!!!

So I just retook the DAT and I dont know what to think of my scores. My scores basically flipped from my first test. Anyway last year I had 5 interviews with my scores and I just retook the DAT yesterday. So if I was to retake it I would not be able to until Nov 6th which is very late. But if I need to retake it I will do it now instead of later because most likely all my scores would go up except in bio. But here are my scores:

1st DAT
RC 18
QR 16
BIO 18
CHM 18
OCHEM 20
PAT 17
TS 19
AA 18

2nd DAT
RC 16
QR 17
BIO 22
CHM 20
OCHM 18
PAT 17
TS 20
AA 19

So I dont really know which scores are better. My science scores increased and the rest either went down or basically stayed the same. I guess the AA and TS is higher but any imput would be much apreciated. I will be calling the schools to see what they say today but dont know how much imput they will be able to give. My gpa is a 3.5 overall and science. Thanks everyone

I think you should definitely call up each school that you are applying to.

What/how did you study differently and how were you doing in Topscore if you did? Also, what techniques did you use for RC?

I used kaplan, cdp, Princeton review for chem and cliffs for bio.... I was doing much better on the practice tests especially for PAT where I was getting 21. I thought it was easier than cdp except for the angles which were impossible. For reading I got the Piano... didnt think it was terrible but all of the passages had much more infrence and for the search and destroy method it was not a good thing. I cant put it any better than this breakdown of the test. Its kinda weird how similar our scores were with exception of having a little higher scores in the sciences.

you should def. call the schools youre applying to. some have a rc cutoff of 18 i think

How did you have 5 interviews last year and no acceptances? That seems kind of strange. Regarding your scores, I would say that RC score the second time really hurts you. Your sciences got better, which is the most important but your PAT stayed low, you must not have used Crack DAT PAT. I would say you might be in about the same boat as last year. 5 interviews is hardly a unsuccessful cycle, I might be asking why you didnt get any acceptances, are you a nervous interviewee?

I would definitely say I was nervous during my interviews and another thing that doesnt help is that I look very young. Marquette was my only pre December interview and I was wait-listed. I got an interview for Kentucky in December for the wait-list and am currently first on the wait-list but they start classes next week. I received an interview from Nova Dec 3rd didnt hear back till March when I was finally rejected (stating that I didnt have enough higher level science courses). Had an interview at Detroit Mercy where I was crucifed when the interviewer told me my scores were not competitive. Then had an interview at Maryland on the last interview date. Both schools just rejected me a couple weeks ago. I applied early last year and got mostly late interviews.

I just got off the phone with Ohio State my state school and they stated I will be cut off but the increase in AA from an 18 to a 19 should look good and is competitive. The main concern was my 17 PAT for them.

What do you mean you look very young-?
Do interviewer care abt whether or not ppl look old or young? I just really m curious 😕

Hmmm. Well I think it would be kinda late for a retake at this point. This being said, it's hard to ignore your low PA, RC, QR, and OC (well this is actually somewhat average) scores on your 2nd DAT. So, you'll probably have a tough time with some of the more prestigious schools.
Just apply with these scores and see what happens. If you don't get any interviews till February, then there's a good chance that you're not getting in this year. At that point you can retake and apply during the 2011 cycle.
