hey guys,

i took calc I my sophomore year and received a C+ in the course. If I were to retake it at a local cc, would my latter grade replace the previous one when applying to a DO school? If not, do you think it's worth retaking it at my current university?? ps. i'm in the same boat with a music course i took! what are your thoughts?!?! thanks for the help and good luck!!

Retake Calc I at your home university. Try not to take any pre regs at a Community College and if your going to retake courses try to retake them at the same place dont go the easy route. Also for any future questions you might want to search for the answer (top right hand corner of main page).

If you retake the class, the new grade replaces the old grade for GPA calculation when applying to DO schools but not MD schools. Both classes still show up on your app, though.

To get the grade replaced with the new one, you do need to make sure they're both worth the same number of credits if you retake at a different institution.

Only retake C- and lower. The C+ isn't great, but the best thing you can do now is get an A in calc II, and have an explanation if they ask. Don't retake.
