Hi, I'm a new member here, and I'm seek for help and advise.
I want to apply to Dental school in the 2017 application cycle, but I have a D in anatomy, which drastically lowered my GPA and sGPA to 3.2 and 2.9 respectively. Would the D in anatomy completely kill my chances for Dental school? I'm a graduating senior and I'm looking at options of focus on studying for the DAT next 4 months and do a masters or post bacc, or should I retake anatomy and hold off the DAT?

Anatomy is a requirement for a good amount of dental schools (although not all dental schools) and if you want a chance at those schools as well, then I would definitely prioritize retaking it. It would also help to show that you improved in that course since you got the D.

Ideally, if you could retake anatomy and take the DAT, then you can maximize your chance for the 2017 cycle but only do it if you know you will succeed in both.

A lot of schools require a grade above a C in all their prerequisites, and although anatomy is not a prerequisite for every school it is definitely a course most schools will scrutinize.

Thank you, I'll seriously consider retake anatomy and push back dental application by another cycle.
