If I get an MCAT score that's below what I would like in August 1 would testing in January help in anyway? Or would it only help to test in September. Thanks for all feedback/help I'm so scared after testing June 30th.

I'm in the same boat as you, and have already started light studying in case I need to retake on sept. 9th. I do think retaking in January would be too late to help you this cycle. I mean you wont get your scores until february, then you'd have to update, and I've read on here that it's not always easy to get these DO schools to be aware of retakes at any time, let alone that late in the cycle.

If you test in January, I highly suggest you wait for the next cycle to apply. Your chances are significantly lowered as you are near the end of the application cycle.

Makes sense. Sept is the back up then!

September is better, but DO NOT retake earlier if you don't feel you are prepared to do significantly better.
