I just graduated from a small Florida university and took my 3rd mcat this january. I'm looking for some advice if any of you want to chime in. cGPA - 3.82; sGPA - 3.7ish; 1st mcat - 19; 2nd mcat - 25. I'm hoping I did well this time around, but I don't know yet. I'm looking at working at a clinical lab to gain some experience. I'm also thinking about applying to some SMP's and Masters programs. I have a few concerns however:

1. If I don't do so well on this mcat, should I retake it? I'm worried that taking the revised mcat version this year with psychology, sociology, and biochemistry might hurt me.
2. I've read that SMPs are for those with lower GPAs. If I pursue a SMP and receive a worse GPA, that would affect me negatively, right?

Any suggestions as how to plan it out? Would I be better off just working instead? Thanks in advance.

What's your goal? MD? DO? Top tier MD/DO's? Any MD/DO's?

1. You won't know whether or not to retake the MCAT until you actually get your score.
2. SMP for a 3.82/3.7 cGPA/sGPA? Eh, seems like a waste of time to me.
3. I'd say work and get some real experiences out there, even outside of just research. Get life experience that you don't get while a student.
