I was reading up on Goro's advice for reinvention and was just wondering if I should retake a D I had in biochem? I only ask because while it isn't exactly a prereq (I took it for my minor in chemistry), I still feel like it weighs heavily on my application. I could understand why I wouldn't want to retake a D in a non-science related course, just wondering if I should for this one. For reference, I got C's in organic, a B in my second semester of biochem, and a B and a C in gen chem (not my best subject).

Biochem is def a pre-req for most medical schools
Need a min of a 2.0 (C) in pre-req courses for most, if not all, US medical schools

Beware that this course will return in medical school.

How is your grasp of the material?

I'm confident I'd get an A on a retake. It wasn't as much my grasp on it as it was my time management and ability to study for the tests (Chief Scribe in an ER as well as a time-consuming relationship that has since ended.) I always received great grades on homework and in-class projects, the tests were the main problem.

Sorry, I worded the question kind of strange, but I have taken two semesters in biochem, and in doing research on prereqs I see alot of "at least one semester of biochem" so how might this work? They will still see the second biochem in which I received the B, will this suffice for the one prereq? Should I still retake the D anyways?

I prob would... a 1.0 in a foundation medical course like biochem could be a red flag, and I wouldn't chance it.
