Hey guys I need your opinion:

I am a July 13th test taker and I got a 30Q (not great, but not bad either). I have a cum GPA of 3.67 from U of Penn and a BCPM GPA of 3.88 from UCSD (post-bac). I have pretty unqiue EC's (started and ran my own company for several years, now work with the da Vinci Surgical Robot, etc.).

Should I retake the MCAT in September or just go ahead and apply??

Thanks for you help!

what was your breakdown? I'd lean towards retaking if any score was 7 or lower. Otherwise, I think 30 is a great score, esp with your gpa (you dont need to compensate for anything).---grats on it! 👍

It's really up to you in the end... can you be happy with your current score? If not, then retake =)

If you submitted your AMCAS already, I don't think it would be a problem because it's a decent score. On the other hand, if you haven't submitted, then maybe you could consider retaking it only because it's so late in the cycle and there's more applications to distinguish yours from.

Thanks guys for your help. My breakdown is as follows: 11 PS, 11VR, 8BS. I have no idea what happened in the bio, thats usually my best section, but I am thrilled with the VR.

And I have already submitted my AMCAS, so while im not early, I am also not late.

I guess my question is will my MCAT score keep me out of schools. I am applying to all types of schools.

I think you have a great score, and if I were to get an 8 in any section, Bio would be the one. I wouldn't waste my time retaking, unless you are absolutely sure you can score an 11 on VR again, etc etc. But like I said no reason to retake with a 30.

I think you are fine gatorman, relax, and congrats on the score. Had you had below a 7 in any section, I would say retake, but its not worth the risk if say you do worse on PS and VR.
