should I retake the old mcat or try the new mcat? I got a 30 on my mcat but my gpa is only 3.51. To top it off I don't go to a good school and I had a moderate schedule 12-15 credits every semester.

No, don't retake. A 30 is a GOOD score.

33-36. I know its not that far off my real score but i don't know what else to do to make my app significantly more competitive for MD schools

no special EC's btw

Extracurricular activities. Your score range does not justify a retake at all.

with the increasing competition every cycle by next year a 3.51 and 30 MCAT would be pretty weak stats for MD and my EC's will be at BEST decent within a year. I need to prove my academic worth somehow if I want to get into MD schools. I understand 30 is a good score but I have a feeling it won't cut it.

A 30 is well within range of being accepted. So is a 3.51. If you do not get accepted to any medical schools next year, it won't be because of your MCAT or GPA.
