Here's my breakdown:
TS: 20
AA: 20
Bio: 19
GC: 20
OC: 21
PA:18
RC: 22
QR: 16

GPA: 3.64

So I felt good about everything except for that big black mark of a 16 in QR. Is that going to create problems for me? Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Most schools put the least amount of importance on QR, however, make sure to contact schools you want to apply to and see if there's a cutoff.

I
You got decent scores. What materials did you use?

Thanks I appreciate it, like I said there are a couple areas that worry me but im just glad to be done with it haha.

Study materials:
Bio-
Kaplan's blue book (just as a light review), Cliffs AP Bio, and the dat destroyer. I was getting 21's and 22's in my practice exams in the bio section so I was pretty bummed about the 19. If I could go back and do it over, I would have spent a lot more time in the destroyer breaking each question down piece by piece. That thing is gold, but I ran out of time in my studies and I only had time to go through it once. I really feel like If I could have gotten through the bio section at least twice and take detailed notes on all the explanations, it would have made a huge difference.
Gen Chem-
DAT Destroyer. I spent tons of time in the DAT destroyer for Gen chem. The questions were extremely tricky the first time through, but again if you can get through it a couple times taking detailed notes as you go through, it is an awesome resource. The questions on the DAT were much easier than the once in the destroyer, but I think that is what threw me off. I kept thinking the questions were trying to trick me on the DAT, so I was thinking way to hard about even the simple questions.
Ochem-
DAT destroyer, OChem as a 2nd language first and second semester topics. The destroyer was sufficient for the ochem section, but pulling out my old Ochem as a Second Language books really helped me solidify all of the concepts. I usually struggle with ochem so I was very pleased with that section score
Perceptual Ability- Crack the dat. Ugh. I was pretty disappointed with my score on this one. I went through all the practice tests a couple times in crack the dat pat, but I think what killed me is that I did not time myself until the last couple days. I struggle so much with Top Front End, and I spent most of my time just in that section trying to practice. So I think I killed that section, but strangely enough, I think key holes destroyed me. They were SOOO much harder than any one I had ever seen in practice!
Reading Comp- USE KAPLAN'S MAPPING STRATEGY. I am a terrible reader, and Kaplans strategy really helped me out. Their practice reading sections are much harder than any question I saw on the DAT. I thought this section would kill me, but it ended up being my best score.
QR- What can I say, I'm embarrassed haha. I just used a friends test question bank and the dat destroyer. I hardly spent any time studying for this section. I was extremely frustrated every time I would study it because I just plain struggle with math. Algebra was way easy, but stats and probability just make me want to rip my eyes out. My take away from this experience was this: the QR section on the dat was surprisingly easier seeming than any of the practice question I had seen in the DAT destroyer. If I had just sucked it up and studied even just for another week in this section, I know I could have killed it. I regret giving up in the QR section in my studies. So dont do what I did. I would get the Math Destroyer and just tear that thing apart, even if you don't feel like you are absorbing anything, and you will do better, hopefully much better, than I did haha.

Hopefully that was somewhat helpful. I did take Kaplans course as well. I didnt mention that much just because I dont think the money is worth it. I mean, I feel like it has such a bad reputation with people, and it actually does have some really good tools. They have tons and tons of pratice quizzes exams which I loved. They also have great test taking strategies which in my opinion was the only thing that made the money worth it. There material is just to light and does not cover nearly enough detail. So take that as you will, I dont have any regrets about it other than the $1300 dropped on it. K I will stop now haha.

Ive seen cutoffs at 17 for some schools but im not sure if it was the qr section. it may have been a section typically seen as more important by dental schools like the sciences or RC.

Your plan worked, because you did well. Thank you for the breakdown. Again, congrats in awesome scores. You are applying for 2015 correct? What school?

15 QR here. Got 12 interviews out of 14 I applied to and got into all the schools I actually went to interview (5).

hi! do you mind telling me what schools gave you interviews? I too have a 15QR but I might retake my DAT. Thank you!

Thanks I really appreciate that. Well my wife and I live here in Utah county so U of U is our first pick. University of Michigan and university of Maryland are also up there on our list because of connections and what not. I'm still doing my homework on what the best fit would be. So much stuff to think about!! Haha

Could you recommend any areas you wish you had reviewed for QR? I'm scareed of this section T_T
Man it's hard to say because every test is different, but if I could go back, I would have just plain put more time in. I spent 40 hours a week for 3 months focusing almost completely on the sciences. Spent maybe a couple hours a week in the three months on PAT studies and maybe one or two practicing RC. But as for QR, I maybe studied 20-30 hours in total. The actual QR really did not look that hard, at least compared to the problems in the dat destroyer. I know if I would have just practiced more in the destroyer, I would have done so much better. I went home right away and compared, it it seriously just seemed like the destroyer was just like the actual QR section on steroids. I'm mad at myself haha. So my advice in hind site is just to not let yourself get frustrated to the point of not studying it. Just set aside an hour a day to do practice problems in those areas you struggle with, and you will do fine.

As far as areas to focus on, for me, algebra is cake and I know I nailed that part of it, and honestly the algebra was not bad at all. Probabilities, permutations, and any other statistics type word problems on the other hand is what killed me. There was lots of it so definitely practice in that area. The geometry and trig like I said before didn't seem bad at all, but I was ill prepared. Know your special triangle for sure, and just memorize your basic trig functions as there were 2 or 3 simple trig questions I just straight up didn't know. Sorry, I'm sure I just said everything you've already heard a thousand times haha

That's awesome!! Congrats man. Where you goin? Aaaaaand I'm guessing you had a pretty sweet AA/TS right?

Your scores and GPA looks great. I'd call schools and try to find out the minimum cut-line for QR before thinking about re-taking.
