Hey Guys!

First post here but I've been a long time observer and thought I needed to ask a question pertinent to my situation.

I am currently on the path to retake both semesters of Introductory Biology and Chemistry. I took General Chemistry I and Intro Bio I last semester and received A's in both. I am signed up for Biology II next semester but cannot decide whether or not I should sign up for Gen Chem II. I received a C- in Biology II so a retake is necessary but in Gen Chem II I received a B. Normally I wouldn't consider a retake of this course and would opt to take a 300/400 level Biology instead however, as I work full time I cannot fit the scheduled lab times for the upper level biology courses I would take into my schedule. A B in Gen Chem II would normally not necessitate a retake in my book but I am planning on taking the MCAT this Spring and believe that it may help me in the way of reviewing for the MCAT.

I am also taking a PR MCAT Prep course that meets on Saturday and Sunday starting in February that will further stress matters.

So, what do you guys think? A jump from B to A will not help my GPA too much but given that some material on the MCAT will be from Gen Chem II, it may prove to be a valuable use of time and money.

Unless you feel like you need it because you forgot, don't retake it. No sense in wasting your time if you don't need to. But if you don't feel comfortable with topics covered in chem 2, then consider it.

Instead of retaking Gen Chem 2, i'd opt to purchase Chad's Videos for gen chem, and go over them. They will cover everything you need quite well.

Should be fine. In my experience gen chem 2 is more calculations and math than difficult concepts.
