I had this similiar post in pre-allo forum. i think i might get different responses here, so here goes.... I just finished my junior year in a state university with a pretty ****ty gpa. I got C's in both gen chems and a C in zoology. I plan to retake them all over at a jc near my house this summer, and hopefully ace them all. Now I'm worry that admission comm. will think that im a shady person lookin for an easy way out.

any thoughts? thx in advance

It is possible the same classes will be harder at the JC depending on the instructor but in reality those classes aren't worth retaking.

Unfortunately I took several pre-reqs at a jc because i decided on medicine late in the game and didn't want to graduate a year late. I also did not want to have to pay more for tuition plus room and board at my university. One course was a retake but the others were first time courses. i heard from allo schools that this will be frowned upon so now I'm getting nervous.:scared:

Oh and one of my courses at the jc I had such a horrible teacher that the course was the hardest I ever took and I never had to work so hard. So yes it's possible but will anyone believe it?😕

That would probably be a good thing to explain in your personal statement, if the adcom can see that there were extenuating circumstances and you're not just taking them at a JC so it'll be easier, they'd probably give more mercy.
