I have taken DAT on 5/6/09. Here are the breakdown of my scores:
PA: 22
QR: 19
RC: 17
Bio: 21
GC: 21
OC: 22
TS: 21
AA: 20

I think these are overall good scores, but they are not great.
I understand many ppl will suggest me not to retake, but my
RC score really worries me since my major targets are CA schools --
which may be more competitive? Also, there is some major
weakness in my application. My letters are not strong, one of
the letters can even be weak/negative. I do have 3.6/3.7sci GPA
(from UCSD), but i have nearly no club participation/extracurricular
activities. 🙁 That's why i really want to make DAT an impressive
factor of my application. Do you guys think I should give one more
try and boost up my RC/QC/PA scores? I'll greatly appreciate any
advices.

your DAT scores are pretty good, except for maybe RC. If you think by retaking you could at least replicate those scores and improve RC, then go ahead and retake. If I had those scores, I would personally not retake. Instead I would invest my time shadowing and doing some volunteer work for the next few months and APPLY EARLY. You have a solid GPA so that shouldn't be a problem either. Also, how do you know you have a negative letter? Have you read it? I thought schools frown upon it when you read letters? But if not, and if you have read the letter, then can you just decide not to submit that particular letter?

I personally dont think you need a retake ... good luck!
